Theofania Archontopoulou

Theofania was born in Uster in 2013. She discovered her love for cello at the age of six. Since 2022 she has been studying cello with Payam Taghadossi at the Zakhar Bron School of Music in Zurich.

Theofania is a first prize winner in numerous national and international competitions. As a soloist, she won first prize in the international competition Grand Prize Virtuoso Bonn 2023. In 2021 and 2023 she won the first prize in the Zurich Youth Music competition.

 
With the Amabile Trio, together with Tatjana Filimonova and Sophie Gringolts, young violin students from the Zakhar Bron School of Music, she won the first prizes at four national and international competitions: the Grand Prize Virtuoso Paris 2022, Zurich Youth Music Competition 2022, Rising Stars 2023 (Riga, Latvia) and in both Entrada and Finale of the Swiss Youth Music Competition 2022.

Theofania took masterclasses with Claire Oppert in 2022. She takes great pleasure in performing and has participated in various concerts. She performed with Trio Amabile at the Ming Classics in Zurich, in the Museum of Transport in Lucerne, in the Zunfthaus zur Waag (children play for children) in Zurich and in Dolder Grand hotel with the Gringolts Quartet.
