Nikita Koller

Nikita was born in 2009 in Wales (UK) into a Swiss-Russian family of historians. He entered the Zakhar Bron School of Music at the age of eight as a student of Inna Khriplovich and studies currently with Liana Tretiakova and Inna Khriplovich. Nikita is a first prize winner of several national and international music competitions.

Nikita’s love for violin and his intensive practicing allowed him to start performing on stage almost straight away. He already participated at the Erlenbach Music Festival 2018 and at the ZBSM Festival ‘Children Play for Children’ in 2019.

In February 2020, Nikita made his debut as a soloist with the orchestra Capella Sonorus in Minsk (Belarus), under the baton of Mourad Assouil. In autumn 2020, he performed with the Gringolts Quartet and in an online edition at the Festival ‘Moscow Meets Friends’, organized by the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation. In spring 2021, Nikita was lucky to perform live at this festival in Moscow. Furthermore, he participated in the online edition of the ‘Stage4Kids’ Festival Hamburg in 2021.

Just recently, Nikita had his first stage experience with a symphony orchestra in Togliatti (Russia), where he performed the Kabalevsky violin concerto in c major with the Togliatti Philharmonics under the baton of Alexey Verhoven.

During the last three years, Nikita became the prize-winner of several competitions in Switzerland and abroad:

  • 1st prize with distinction at the Swiss Youth Music Competition 2021 Finals (Lucerne, 2021) with the Trio EastWest and an invitation to the SYMC Winners gala concert in Lucerne in May 2021 as well as an invitation to open the SYMC Winners concert at the Lucerne Summer Festival in August 2021
  • 1st prize with distinction at the Swiss Youth Music Competition 2021 Entrada (Winterthur, 2021)
  • 1st prize and the special award for performance of a large-scale piece at the Magic Muse Competition (Moscow, 2021 online)
  • 1st prize at the Golden Classical Music Awards Competition (New York, 2021 online) and an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall, Weil Recital Hall in December 2021
  • 1st prize and the special prize – a performance with a chamber orchestra ‘Bright Bows’ (Novosibirsk) at the Nouvelle Etoiles Competition (Paris, 2021 online)
  • 1st prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition (Salzburg, 2020 online) and an invitation to perform at the Mozarteum in Salzburg in August 2020
  • 1st prize with max. score (60/60) at the Zurich Youth Music Competition (Zurich, 2019)

Nikita regularly participates in the ZBSM master classes. In summer 2019, he studied at the String Academy under the patronage of Maxim Vengerov in Monaco, where he performed at the closing concert. Furthermore, Nikita took violin lessons with acclaimed Professors and soloists such as Zakhar Bron, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Sergei Ostrovsky, Priya Mitchell, Yuri Zhislin, Esther Hoppe, and Alexandra Soumm, as well as in chamber music with Priya Mitchell and Claire Oppert.

Nikita is not only a passionate soloist but also a dedicated chamber musician and loves to play chamber music with his friends. He also likes to compose virtuoso pieces for violin and takes lessons in composition.

Nikita is also a devoted chess player, which he plays competitively.
