Marco Bernardis

Marco Bernardis, born in London in 2010, embarked on his musical journey at the age of five inspired by his grandaunt. He began his violin studies at the ZBSM under the tutelage of Liana Tretiakova, the school founder and leading violin teacher.

After a 3 year break (due to a family relocation to Hong Kong), Marco resumed his violin lessons in 2019 upon his return to Zurich, this time with Inna Khriplovich. In 2022, captivated by the resonant tones of the viola, Marco transitioned from the violin, further broadening his musical horizons.

Throughout his musical journey, Marco has participated in various Swiss Music competitions, earning the 1st Prize with honors at Zentral Schweiz in 2022. He has also received several 2nd and 3rd prizes at the SJMW Entrada Chamber Music competitions between 2021 and 2023. These awards were achieved in duet performances with his younger brother, Sam Bernardis, who is a piano student also at the ZBSM.

Marco is studying at the Zurich International School, where he has also collected numerous achievements as a mathematician in national and international competitions.
