Felipe Raphael Hauser

Felipe was born in 2009 as the third child into a family with a musical tradition. His grandfather was a violinist in the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and his aunt is a violinist at the Zurich Opera House. Felipe started playing the violin at the age of 8. His enthusiasm, diligence, as well as his love for music and music history, quickly propelled him forward.

Early on, it was clear to him that, like his grandfather and aunt, he wanted to become a professional musician. In the spring of 2022, he was admitted to the lower grades of the Rämibühl School of Arts and Sports. Since February 2023, he has been taking violin lessons at the Zakhar Bron School of Music with Liana Tretiakova, the school founder and leading violin teacher, and Anica Vieru.

Felipe participated in the international Music Summer School Interlaken in the years 2020, 2021, and 2022, attending master-classes and orchestral sessions. In 2022, he had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the orchestra.

During the summer of 2022, he had the chance to participate in the Swiss International Music Academy and perform at various concerts.

In the summer of 2023, he took part in the Ming Classic Master-Class, receiving instruction from Professor Xiaoming Wang and performing in various concerts. Additionally, he was awarded the 2nd prize at the Ming Classic Competition.

Also in the summer of 2023, he attended violin master-classes with Ilya Gringolts, Liana Tretiakova, and Alexander Kuznetsov, culminating in a performance at the closing concert.

Felipe regularly practices with his grandfather. Both he and his grandfather enjoy this time together, even if Grandpa has to be strict at times. They make a great team.

In his free time, Felipe enjoys attending concerts or operas. He also loves reading music encyclopedias and opera guides.

Since 2021, Felipe has been playing a violin made by Caspar Strnad from around 1800.
