After a week of intense masterclass with Liana Tretyakova, the young violinists Aurora Gächter, Ilva Eigus and Sophie Branson performed their solo programs in the Reformed Church in Riga.
This church is known for its excellent acoustic properties. In Soviet times, the Church housed the recording studio of the famous music label Melodiya. The first Melodiyas-recordings were made right here, with the best technical apparatus of the time, manufactured in Switzerland. Renowned violinists such as David Oistrakh, Leonid Kogan and Gidon Kremer recorded in this studio. Highlights from our concert’s recording at the venue are available under a link in the Gallery section.
