A seasoned performer and piano teacher, as well as a winner and finalist of international piano competitions, Pau Fernández Benlloch joined the Zakhar Bron School of Music in 2022. He offers piano lessons to students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced players.
Pau Fernández Benlloch has performed at major European festivals and renowned concert halls across Europe, including the Beethoven House (Bonn, Germany), Musiikkitalo (Helsinki, Finland) and Queen Sofia Palace of Arts (Valencia, Spain). He has toured extensively with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra (Germany) and appeared as a soloist with the Basel Chamber Orchestra (Switzerland).
He has premiered works by contemporary composers, including Alexander Schubert, Voro García, and Sixto Herrero. As a chamber musician, Pau has collaborated with some of the most outstanding artists of our time, such as Jürg Dähler (violin, Switzerland), Pablo Barragán (clarinet, Spain), Calogero Palermo (clarinet, Italy), Kari Kriikku (clarinet, Finland), Stefan Schilling (clarinet, Germany), and Paco Varoch (flute, Spain).
Pau’s piano education began in Valencia and Madrid (Spain), where he studied with Ignacio Millán, Rafael Salinas, Nino Kereselidze, and Denis Lossev. He continued his studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (Finland), graduating with honors. He then attended the University of Music and Dance in Cologne (Germany), where Claudio Martínez Mehner and Nina Tichman – two esteemed piano pedagogues from Germany and the USA, respectively – further shaped him as a professional pianist.
In Switzerland, Pau continued his piano studies at the Basel University of Music (2021–2023) and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he takes lessons with Claudio Martínez Mehner, Anton Kernjak, and Edoardo Torbianelli.
He has won prizes and reached the finals of numerous international piano competitions across Europe, including the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis Ensemble Competition, Prix UBS Jeunes Solistes, National Spanish Jeunesses Musicales Competition, and the International Chamber Music Competition in Arnuero.
In addition to studying and performing, Pau has been teaching piano across Europe for over ten years, working with students of all levels—from beginners to professionals. He has helped them advance their skills and prepare for entrance examinations to higher music institutions. As a piano teacher, Pau strives to provide a comprehensive education, equipping his students with a wide range of skills to meet the technical and psychological demands of the modern music world, which requires exceptional versatility.
At the Zakhar Bron School of Music, Pau teaches piano to the beginners and advanced level students. He provides his piano lessons in German, English and Spanish.
