Ilva Eigus was born in Zurich in 2007. She began playing violin at the age of three and a half years and started lessons with Liana Tretiakova at the Zakhar Bron School of Music shortly before her 4th birthday. She also plays piano since she is five and attends a piano class at the Zurich Conservatory (MKZ) and improvisation lessons in the 18th century gallant style.

Already at the age of six, Ilva had her solo performance debut on the invitation of the Swiss Foundation Supporting Musically Gifted Children. In the same year she started taking lessons with the internationally renowned Professor Zakhar Bron and regularly attends his masterclasses ever since. At the age of seven Ilva won the first prize at the international „Premio Crescendo 2015“ competition in Florence. She also received the special „Miglior Violinista“ award in all categories up to the age of 30 years, as well as the „Concerto Premio Junior“ prize, which allowed her to give three recitals in Italy in the 2015/2016 concert season. A few months later, at the age of eight, Ilva had a thoroughly convincing symphony orchestra debut performing the Kabalevsky violin concerto in C major.

Despite her young age, Ilva has performed in distinguished concert halls such as the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the Kongresshaus Zurich, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (on the invitation of Vladimir Spivakov Foundation), the Mozarteum in Salzburg, in the philharmonic halls of Riga and Novosibirsk and at the Menton Music Festival – as the youngest festival participant in its 68th year history.

Ilva participated in the masterclasses of Prof. Zakhar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Sergei Ostrovsky, Alexandra Soumm and Tatiana Samouil in Zurich, at the Menton Festival and at the Salzburg Academy.

In autumn 2017 Ilva enjoyed an enthusiastic reception of her performance of Mozart’s violin concerto in B flat major with the chamber orchestra „Collegium Cantorum“ and when she explored a new genre, performing on violin and piano in a theatre play. A film portrait of her was featured on Swiss National Television (SRF) in December 2017.

In 2018 Ilva participated in the World Premier of Daniel Schnyder’s Concerto Grosso iGeneration at the Transsiberian Art Festival in Novosibirsk alongside Vadim Repin and became the winner of the Swiss National Youth Music Competition with honors.
