Students of the Zakhar Bron School of Music achieved remarkable success at the Swiss Youth Music Competition 2026 – Entrada Classica, winning twelve First Prizes, including five with distinction, across several regions of Switzerland.
The competition took place from 13 to 15 March, with ZBSM students participating in the regional rounds held in Winterthur, Arbon, Neuchâtel, Unterägeri and Geneva.
In the 17–20 age group, Professional Programme violin students Nina Gringolts and Sophie Branson both won First Prize with Distinction in the violin solo category.
Professional Programme violin student Kimia Corke received two awards in this age group:
Young violist Marco Bernardis was awarded Second Prize in the viola solo category.
Professional Programme violin student Tatjana Filimonova won First Prize with Distinction in the violin solo category.
Siblings Timmy Wang and Aurea Wang received First Prize and Second Prize respectively in the same category.
Advanced Programme violin student Katharina Filimonova won First Prize with Distinction in the violin solo category.
Aron Wallerstein, Zlata Eismann and Kira Okhrimenko each secured First Prize in the same category.
In the chamber music category, violinist Katharina Filimonova and pianist Maksut Mukhitdin were awarded First Prize.
Another duo — violinist Mila Sabella and pianist Maya Nikolic — received Third Prize in the same category.
Nina, Sophie and Kimia are violin students in the class of Liana Tretyakova.
Marco, Tatjana, Timmy, Aurea, Aron, Zlata, Katharina and Kira study violin with Inna Khriplovich.
Maksut and Maya are piano students in the classes of Rafael Lipstein and Tatiana Samoylova respectively.
The final round of the Swiss Youth Music Competition will take place in Zurich from 30 April to 2 May 2026, where all First Prize winners will compete.
A Gala Concert on 3 May will present the competition’s most outstanding laureates.
