Ilva Eigus performed with the Belenus quartet

The prize-winner of various national and international music competitions, Ilva Eigus, performed with the Swiss Belenus quartet at the famous Zurich club Exil on 23 June 2019.

It was Ilva’s first solo concert with a quartet. She played six pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and other classical composers in a row. The performance lasted for more than one hour, which for a 12-year-old student is quite a challenge!

The concert was opened by Ilva’s solo performance of a Gavotte by Bach, followed by the famous Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Next, together with her teacher Liana Tretiakova, she played the third movement of Bach’s Concerto in D minor for two violins. The other pieces (Mozart’s Concerto in B flat major, Mendelssohn’s Concerto in D minor and Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saëns) were performed with the Belenus quartet: Sereina Pfenninger (violin), Anne Battegay (violin), Esther Fritzsche (viola) and Jonas Vischi (cello).
