Emilia von Albertini performs with orchestra

On 9 and 10 June 2012 Emilia von Albertini (student of Liana Tretiakova) appeared as a soloist with the Thalwil Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kevin Griffits, performing Bruch's Violin Concerto in G minor.

Both concerts gathered a full and enthusiastic audience, which gave Emilia and the orchestra long lasting ovations. For the young violinist it was a debut performance with orchestra. This concert became a big event in her life, but was also important for the musicians of the orchestra, who are mainly amateur players. They have never performed with such a young soloist, were deeply moved and tried to give their best to support the talented child.

The young conductor also gave Emilia a lot of support. Kevin Griffits comes from a famous musical family: his father Howard Griffits conducted the Zurich Chamber Orchestra for many years. After the concert the orchestra presented Emilia with the music of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Emilia promised to perform it with the Thalwil Symphony once she grows up and learns it!
