Debut of Aurora Gaechter at the Bolshoi Theatre (Moscow)

In the beginning of June a gifted student of the Zakhar Bron School of Music, Aurora Gaechter (class of Liana Tretiakova), has performed in two concerts in Moscow: at the Bolshoi Theatre and in the Museum of Russian Impressionism. Aurora was invited to perform by the International Charity Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov.

Fourteen years in a row the International Charity Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov invites talented children from all over the world to participate in the concert series within the frame of the festival Moscow Meets Friends. Every year the organisers listen to nearly four hundred audition videos from all six continents. The second year in a row only one participant from Switzerland gets selected and the second year in a row the choice falls on a student of the Zakhar Bron School of Music. Zakhar Bron is a legendary violinist and pedagogue, the teacher of such famous violinists of our time as Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov and Daniel Hope.

This year the chosen young performer was Aurora Gaechter, who despite being only 10 years old has already appeared as a soloist with the Uzbekistan National Symphony Orchestra in Tashkent and also with the Omsk Chamber Orchestra and the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in Russia. Aurora was the only participant of the festival who was invited to play not just in one, but in two concerts.

The first concert took place on June 2nd in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre. There Aurora performed Scherzo by Brahms. On the next day, June 3rd, at the concert in the Museum of Russian Impressionism, Aurora presented Havanaise by Saint-Saëns. The Moscow audience was moved by the elegant and emotional performances of the young violinist from Switzerland and rewarded Aurora with long ovations.

Eight year old Ilva Eigus, another talented student of the Zakhar Bron School of Music (studio of the school’s founder Liana Tretiakova) made her Moscow debut at the concert in the Bolshoi Theater last year. Ilva performed Three Preludes by Dmitry Shostakovich (from the cycle Ten Preludes) and her performance also was a huge success.

It is an honour for our School, that our students get selected to perform at such a legendary venue as the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Every year our students perform in 5-10 concerts around the world and receive invaluable performance experience.
