Baroque concert at the City Hall of Zug

On 23 November 2014, young soloists of the ZBSM performed with the accompaniment of a string quintet and a cembalo at the City Hall of Zug, the oldest concert hall in town.

It was the first time the students of the school had a chance to perform with a string quintet. The young soloists were accompanied by teachers and friends of the school: Nadezhda Korshakova (violin), Romane Bolinger (violin), Olenka Lutsyk (viola), Sandi Toka Nova (cello), Grigoryi Katz (bass) and Yana Eismann (cembalo).

Such an original format helped to put together an interesting baroque program: Alexander Sahatci and Alexandra Taub performed Vivaldi’s Concerto in A minor, Sophie Branson played virtuosic Variations by Tartini on a theme by Corelli arranged by Kreisler. Ilva Eigus continued the romantic line by presenting Paganini Variations. Romane Favia melted the hearts of the audience with the powerful Largo by Veracini and Aurora Gaechter played two movements from a Sonata by Handel. The concert fitted perfectly into the festive Advent atmosphere of the town and was very well received by the audience.
