Piano Masterclass with Siavush Gadjiev in Zurich

Siavush Gadjiev completed his musical training at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a student of famous teachers such as Bella Davidovich and Boris Zemliansky. At the Moscow Conservatory he also obtained a Masters in Music (“Interpretation Course”) under the guidance of Mihkail Voskresensky, and was invited to teach in the prestigious Central Special School of Music of the Moscow Conservatory, intended to train the most musically endowed students by the ex. Soviet Union as well as Japan, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Romania, Korea, United States.

Since 1994 he has carried out regular teaching activities between Italy and Slovenia, at the “Glasbena Matica” in Trieste and at the Ljubljana Conservatory.

Among the students who have most distinguished themselves in the international field are personalities such as Alexander Gadjiev (2nd Prize at the Chopin Competition, Overall Winner of the Sydney and Hamamatsu competitions), Alexei Nabioulin (2nd Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Overall Winner of the “Casagrande” and “Axa” in Dublin), Giuseppe Guarrera (2nd Prize at the Montreal Competition), Timur Erzhanov (Winner of the “Schumann” Competition in Zwickau).

He has conducted masterclasses, seminars and concert-lessons (also of a monographic nature on the Russian repertoire) in Russia, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, the United States and in various conservatories in Italy, reserving particular space for specific courses for the interpretation of Mozart and Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Prokofjev and cycles of pedagogical training.

From 2000 to 2015 he was Artistic Director of the “Giuliano Pecar” International Prize for piano interpretation in Gorizia.

He has served as a juror in numerous international competitions (“Bartok-Liszt” in Budapest, “Hummel” in Bratislava etc.)

An exciting success of critics and audiences has rewarded his frequent concert performances in the countries of the former USSR and Yugoslavia, in Poland, in Germany, in the United States and in Italy. Eclectic musician, excellent interpreter of the piano literature of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev, authors he prefers, Gadjiev dedicates himself to both solo recitals and chamber music concerts in duo, trio and quintet formation. The pianist has collaborated with various symphony orchestras and famous conductors such as S.Kogan, Nijasi, K.van Alphen, K.Trevor and a.a.
