Kimia Corke: Violin Class, Professional Program

Kimia is a student in the Professional Program. She has been studying violin with Liana Tretiakova, the lead violin teacher at the Zakhar Bron School of Music in Zurich, since 2021.

Born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2011, Kimia Corke began studying the violin at the age of four and made her stage debut shortly after. Since 2021, she has been a student at the Zakhar Bron School of Music in Zurich.

Kimia is a prize-winning violinist, frequently earning 1st prize with distinction in both national and international competitions. She has excelled at events such as SJMW (Solo and Chamber Music categories) and Riviera, as well as prestigious competitions in France, Slovenia, Italy, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and the USA. Most recently, in July 2024, she won 3rd prize at the Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition in Budapest, Hungary, along with the Special Prize from the Festival Academy Budapest for the best performance of a contemporary piece—Shlomo Mintz’s ‘In Memory’.

Kimia actively participates in masterclasses with renowned violinists, including Professors Zakhar Bron, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Esther Hoppe, Kirill Troussov, and Vadim Gluzman. She is passionate about performing, whether as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles, or with orchestras.

One of her most memorable experiences was performing with the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra at the age of eight, marking her debut as a soloist with an orchestra. Since then, she has performed as a soloist with several orchestras, most recently in Moldova with the National Chamber Orchestra (April 2024) and with the National Philharmonic and Symphonic Orchestra (May & November 2024), playing Bruch’s Concerto No. 1 and Mozart’s Concerto No. 3.

Since 2022, Kimia has been playing a violin crafted in 1755 by French luthier Pierre Le Pileur in Paris.
